Pico-Union: Humberto Rodriguez-Varon, 51

Humberto Rodriguez-Varon, a 51-year-old Latino, was beaten and died Wednesday, Nov. 25, in the 1300 block of South Orchard Avenue in Pico-Union, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s officials.

Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office, said Rodriguez-Varon was found on the sidewalk by someone walking in the area at 6:44 a.m. He had been hit in the face with a board and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additional details were not immediately available.
