Evelyn Morales, a 70-year-old white woman, was shot to death inside her apartment at 16236 Cornuta Ave. in Bellflower at about 9:54 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28. According to detectives from the Sheriff’s homicide bureau, the husband, Conrad Albert Morales, 64, reported her death to authorities after discovering her body in the living room. Deputies who first responded to the location ruled it as a possible suicide, but homicide detectives were still called in to investigate. On Jan. 29, Conrad was arrested for suspicion of shooting his wife, authorities said. On Jan. 31, the L.A. County District attorney charged Conrad with one count of murder for allegedly shooting his wife. His arraignment was postponed until Dec. 3.
