Liya Liu, 32

Liya (Sandy) Liu, a 32-year-old Asian woman, was shot in the garage of her home on Bonita St. in Arcadia at about 10:21 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. According to detectives from the Arcadia Police Department, Liu had arrived home when she was allegedly confronted in the garage by her husband, Peter Chang. 58. An argument ensued and Liu was shot multiple times with a handgun, authorities claim. She was transported by ambulance to Huntington Memorial Medical Center in Pasadena, where she died the next day at 5:36 a.m. Chang, of Long Beach, was later arrested by Long Beach Police Department and was transported to Arcadia city jail for booking. He is being charged for homicide, police said.
