Like peace signs and macrame, terrariums have made a comeback.

Hip to this, the gardening pros at Rolling Greens Nursery are offering a do-it-yourself terrarium workshop this Saturday when they will help you create your own unique garden under glass.

There is no fee for the class. Participants can pick their own materials from the store -- fishbowls, succulents, orchids, bromeliads, driftwood, stones and recycled glass -- and pay as they go. Participants are also encouraged to bring in their own decorative items -- rocks, shells, wood -- to incorporate.

Prices for a DIY terrarium like the small one pictured above start at about $40. The largest would cost about $180.

Terrarium care is easy. Once the plants become established inside the vase, the terrarium recirculates most of its moisture and requires only occasional misting. DIY terrarium workshop, Rolling Greens Hollywood, 7505 Beverly Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles. Saturday, 1-3 p.m. Reservations: (323) 934-4500.
