March 11: Jim Folsom, the Telleen/Jorgensen Director of the Botanical Gardens at the Huntington, leads a talk on the care and cultivation of flowering trees. March 11: Horticulturist and garden designer John Greenlee, author of “The American Meadow Garden,” presents a slide show that illustrates the danger of the common Bermuda lawn and explains how to grow a meadow instead. March 13: Kids and parents can take part in hands-on Environmental Education Fair workshops, musical entertainment, crafts and storytelling. An Ecological Treasure Hunt is open to students in grades 4 through 12. Using a map and compass, teams will explore the ecological treasures of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden; call (562) 922-6889 to participate.
