The Deal: Judy Ross pillows and rugs discounted through Friday at Gilt

Like so many great home designers, Judy Ross has a background in fine art that is apparent in her distinctive textiles. Ross studied print making at the Rhode Island School of Design and textile design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Now she designs textiles that feature seed, flower and fauna motifs and are made from hand-dyed yarns embroidered (also by hand) on wool, linen or silk.
This week look for great discounts on Ross pillows and rugs as the invitation-only shopping site Gilt Groupe, which is slashing the prices on selected items by more than 50%.
Pillows, including the chain-stitched Cluster pillow shown at right, normally $190, are now $68 apiece. Rugs deals include runners, 2.5 feet by 6 feet, reduced from $1,326 down to $480; 6-by-9-foot rugs, normally $5,400, are now $2,890; 8-by-10-foot rugs, normally $6,800, are now $3,300.
