The Deal: George Smith sample sale features up to 50% off retail

Beginning Saturday, George Smith Furniture and Fabrics will offer a wide selection of floor samples to the public at trade prices, about 50% lower than retail. While technically a sample sale, the Los Angeles showroom also has built some of its handmade traditional furnishings specifically for the event, including sofas, chairs, chaises and stools covered in a wide selection of fabrics, leathers and kilims.

As a gauge of the discounts, the 6-foot 6-inch Georgian sofa in mohair, shown above, left, normally retails for $12,360; It will be priced at $7,835. The Airdrie chair, shown at right, normally $5,975, will cost $3,625. For a preview of available stock, with retail and trade prices, click here.
