These colorful, handcrafted day planners ($60) from Nahui Ollin are a stylishly eco-friendly way to stay organized this year. The line’s funky woven look is composed from a surprising source: recycled candy wrappers -- as many as 4,000 of them.

When designer Olga Abadi encountered this ancient Mayan folding technique, which she saw used to create handbags at a festival in Mexico, she was inspired to try it herself. The result is a win-win line of green accessories that helps artisans in Mexico (where they are produced) and translates into a lot less trash in our landfills.
