Almont Yard, that charming collection of design studios lining a cobblestone courtyard in West Hollywood, just welcomed its newest resident, Brit designer Kathryn M. Ireland. On the heels of her latest book, ‘Creating a Home,’ and the launch of her online store, the maven of unfussy elegance has set up a two-room shop upstairs from Lucas Design Studio.

In addition to Ireland’s own line of ethnic-inspired fabrics and warm farmhouse furniture, bold textiles from Hugh Sinclair and Lula fabrics, the shop showcases luxury linens from Volga. Then there are pillows covered in antique fabrics, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, and when you’re ready to graduate from IKEA chairs, slipcovers in funky patterns that create a high-design look without scheduling a bulk trash pickup.

‘I want it to be like my atelier sitting room,’ says Ireland, who fills out the fanciful mix with glass bead necklaces, hand-stitched leather bags from Argentina and customizable maps by Baby De Selliers. ‘I want people to come in with an old throw, or a picture of an old room, and let us help them turn it into something beautiful.’

Kathryn M. Ireland at Almont Yard, 636 N. Almont Drive, West Hollywood; (310) 246-1906 or www.kathrynireland.com. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and by appointment.
