This week we’re taking a tour of Jennifer and David Ritch’s renovated 1906 Venice cottage. Although the couple retained the home’s traditional facade, inside the look is clean and modern.

The Ritches’ house provides inspiration for anyone who lives in a small space. The dining-table benches, for instance, have an almost invisible profile when they are pushed underneath the table. Also note the kitchen cabinetry, which has blind notch cabinet pulls to give the 8-foot-square space a smooth, tailored appearance. That’s extra helpful when the kitchen is exposed to the rest of the house.
