Draping some packaged cobwebs over a chandelier might lend a certain Dickensian darkness, but is that really spooky enough?

For those haven’t invested in one of those black crystal numbers that Philippe Starck designed for Baccarat, here are some Halloween lighting ideas. Kaarskoker offers a skull-print sleeve for chandelier candles -- part of a line that includes solid colors and wallpaper pattern. The skull design is available in silver ($16 a pair) as well as black, navy and pink ($14 a pair).

If that’s too subtle, try topping the bulbs with a jack-o-lantern chandelier shade made from dupioni silk, in black and orange (the latter available Oct. 19). They are $16 each from Ballard Designs.
