Whether you look at Design House Stockholm’s forthcoming Twist table as a table or shelf, this lively furnishing can add pizazz to a room. The structure’s planes rotate: The levels, each 14 to 22 inches in diameter, can turn so the piece seems to expand or contract, allowing for maximum storage in a minimal space. It stands 23 inches tall and is made of lacquered medium-density fiberboard. Designer Philip Edis says the piece was inspired by the hula hoop, so twist and shout for an artful little table.

The suggested retail price is $550. It will be available later this month through Design House Stockholm or the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art store.
