Born in Winnipeg and based in New York City, pen and ink illustrator Marcel Dzama creates weirdly whimsical worlds of his own populated with imaginary creatures, including tearful ghosts and melting snowmen. In a collaboration with Cereal Art, a manufacturer of limited edition artist-designed products, Dzama created the porcelain Sea Salt and Jester Pepper shaker set shown here. Certain to delight kids and mortify in-laws, it may also discourage over-seasoning. Temptingly, it has been reduced by 40%, from $100 to $60, in a sale that runs through Tuesday, June 30.

Laurie Simmons’ set four tea cups and saucers are a sweet-table delight. The fine china pieces feature the artist’s collages of dessert items organized by flavors: lemon, mint, strawberry and chocolate. Coordinating dessert plates are also available. Regularly priced at $150, the teacup and dessert plate sets will sell for $90 through June 30.
