For several years, BetterWall has been partnering with museums nationwide to help them reduce waste by recycling banners from lamp posts and museum facades and reselling them as artworks. Now a selection of their limited-edition advertisements are available locally at Room & Board in Santa Ana. (Or look for them when the Minneapolis-based retailer opens a new store in Culver City in September.)

This vinyl Georgia O’Keeffe ‘Red Flower’ museum banner is one of 43 banners from the Art Institute of Chicago’s ‘Free Fridays at the Art Institute’ exhibition that was on display in 2007. Most of the recycled banners are 72 inches high and come with a wooden dowel hanging system and a certificate of authenticity. Other banners include a Siamese Buddha museum banner from the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, as well as Matisse and Robert Bechtle banners from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, at prices ranging from $415 to $525.
