Half Dome to reopen after snow delay

June 17, 2011 | 11:24 am

Hikers hoping to summit Half Dome in Yosemite National Park will get their chance next week.

The cables that allow access to the granite dome will be in place and open for the season beginning Wednesday, park officials said in a statement.

Heavy winter snow and cooler spring temperatures delayed the opening of several of Yosemite’s roads, campgrounds and attractions this year.
