Gulf oil spill: Turtle found struggling in oil

The National Wildlife Federation took CNN on a tour Wednesday of the spreading oil plume from the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and has posted a photograph of a turtle struggling in the plume. Footage also was on CNN.

In addition to internal damage, long-term and chronic exposure to oil can cause the skin of turtles to slough off, studies have found.
