A large bear spent Wednesday afternoon roaming through a San Dimas neighborhood, hiding in a tree, romping across patios and scaling backyard walls as animal control officers tried to get the animal back into the wild.

The bear was seen around Terrabone Avenue about 1:30 p.m. KABC-TV Channel 7 showed live video of the animal traversing backyards and walking down the center of a road. The bear appeared at one point to move away from homes, then roamed back into the neighborhood.
