JAPAN MAY CUT WHALE QUOTA: Australia’s Daily Telegraph quotes a Japanese newspaper stating Japan may reduce its original whaling quota of about 1,000 by several hundred.

A WHALE’S WORLD: Whale enthusiasts who want to learn more about the blue whale should tune in to the National Geographic Channel at 8 p.m. Sunday for ‘Kingdom of the Blue Whale.’ The feature follows a team of scientists as they observe the behavior of the animal in its natural habitat and as they journey to locate its breeding grounds.
