John Legend got the green light from his girlfriend Chrissy Teigen: The R&B star proposed to the model over Christmas, and she said yes.

The cute couple, a red carpet fixture, took a luxurious vacation for the holiday, but Legend had a little something extra under the tree.

‘John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives,’ his rep told People.

The social media savvy duo took to their Twitter accounts to confirm the news, with Legend saying, ‘thanks for the well wishes everybody’ and Teigen offering a simple ‘we are :) and thank you.’

The engagement marks a happy birthday present for Legend, who turns 33 on Wednesday.
