Zooey Deschanel, husband Ben Gibbard separate after two years

Zooey Deschanel of ‘New Girl’ fame has separated from Ben Gibbard, her husband of a little more than two years.
Actress and singer Deschanel, 31, and the Death Cab for Cutie frontman, 35, were introduced three years ago by their mutual manager (Zooey is half of the band She & Him), then got married September 2009.
The decision ‘was mutual and amicable,’ a source told Us Weekly, which originally reported the split.
At least the ‘(500) Days of Summer’ star will have work to keep her mind off the breakup. In September, ‘New Girl’ was the new first Fox series to be picked up for a full season — shortly before new episodes were put on hold until November so the network could clear the decks for the World Series and ‘The X-Factor.’
On the show, Zooey plays a woman who moves in with three guys after leaving her cheating boyfriend. In real life, she’s playing a woman who just became an aunt: Sis Emily Deschanel and her husband, actor David Hornsby, welcomed a baby boy on Sept. 22.
