Mariska Hargitay adopts second baby in 6 months: Give ‘em an ‘A’

‘Law & Order: SVU’ star Mariska Hargitay and her husband have brought home another baby. This time, it’s a boy, to join 5-year-old brother August and 6-month-old sister Amaya. Keeping the alliterative theme, the new baby’s name is Andrew.
Or, to be precise, Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann, E! Online says. Amaya Josephine was adopted by Hargitay and Peter Hermann in April as a newborn.
August helped name Amaya: ‘We all talked about names because everything is a family decision in our house,’ Hargitay said at the time. (‘A’ might just be August’s favorite letter at this point.)
Hargitay, 47, said she and Hermann had been considering both international and domestic adoption before adopting Amaya. Hargitay talked in May about her new daughter, saying she was ‘very soothing to the heart.’ Now, with two babies under a year old at home, Hargitay and Hermann are going to need all the soothing they can get.
The adoption of Andrew, who was born over the summer, reportedly happened very swiftly.
But Hargitay will have more time for her growing family, having cut back her hours on ‘SVU.’ She has shifted on the show from a lead role to a supporting one, but fans have been assured she will still appear in every episode.
