Before her dark days as Lisbeth Salander in ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,’ actress Rooney Mara filmed the sleepy girls’ boarding school flick ‘Tanner Hall,’ which received its premiere screening in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Mara, who will star in the hotly anticipated holiday release ‘Dragon Tattoo’ alongside Daniel Craig, joined ‘Tanner Hall’ filmmakers Tatiana von Furstenberg and Francesca Gregorini at Silver Lake’s Vista Theater.

Still rocking her cropped black hair and pierced eyebrow (she was leaving Wednesday morning for ‘Tattoo’ reshoots), Rooney was joined by actress sister Kate Mara and costars Shawn Pyfrom of ‘Desperate Housewives’ and funnyman Chris Kattan.

That the modest screening and its after-party at the adjacent Good Luck Bar seemed odd for the pedigreed filmmakers was no coincidence. An East Coast unveiling had been planned, until a certain force of nature begged to differ.

‘We were supposed to do the premiere and party in Southampton but Hurricane Irene shut us down,’ Von Furstenberg told the Ministry. ‘I cobbled this together in three days.’

The bunch made do with a dim sum food truck and picnic benches, while inside, red paper lanterns and incense dressed an open bar. Mara ditched her nude pumps and embroidered jacket for black jeans and a flowy top, rubbing elbows with her directors and boyfriend Charlie McDowell.
