The Emmy nominee for ‘Mike & Molly’ is planning to create her own look for Sunday’s big show, and not just as a novel celebrity move: McCarthy studied fashion at Southern Illinois University.

‘I studied textiles, so if there was ever a time to do it, it’s now,’ she told the Ministry at Audi’s Emmy Awards kick-off event Sunday.

McCarthy, who’s nominated in the best actress, comedy, category, was tight-lipped on the details, said she has two options in mind. We can’t blame her for wanting credit; McCarthy has been generating mucho interest since getting laughs in Kristen Wiig’s bridal comedy.

‘I keep waiting for the phone to ring and someone to say, ‘We’re just kidding,’’ McCarthy said of her winning streak. In addition to working on ‘Molly,’ she’ll also be featured in Judd Apatow’s next film, ‘This Is 40.’

Also on deck at the Audi bash were this year’s Emmy host, Jane Lynch; funny ladies Kate Flannery and Rachel Harris; Mark Salling, Aziz Ansari, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen; ‘The Help’ star Octavia Spencer; and ‘True Blood’ cutie Grey Damon.
