Country singer Chely Wright and girlfriend Lauren Blitzer were married Saturday on a country estate in Connecticut, with a celebration that included a few less helicopters and reality-TV cameras than another celeb wedding held the same day in Montecito.

The brides wore white, as seen in a photo of the couple taken ‘right before we walked out for the ceremony,’ which Wright posted online.

LGBT activist Blitzer and Wright got engaged in April, a little less than a year after the singer came out publicly as a lesbian. Wright announced that they planned to wed on a Connecticut estate owned by Blitzer’s aunt, with 200 guests in attendance, and told E! News at the time that they were working on gowns with designer Jose Dias.

Rosie O’Donnell tweeted encouragement ahead of the big day, and Kristin Chenoweth sent congratulations and love.

Wright and Blitzer were married by a rabbi and a reverend, People said, and treated their 200-plus guests to barbecue afterward.

Also, no veils, Wright told the mag: ‘We like our hair too much!’
