The Cheerios whistle has sounded -- Jane Lynch will host the Emmy awards.

‘Glee’’s Sue Sylvester will play emcee for television’s biggest night on Sept. 18, when the telecast airs on her home network Fox.

‘I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox. I’m looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit,’ the actress said in a statement.

Rumors have been circulating that Lynch would headline the trophy-fest, the third female to do so behind Ellen DeGeneres, 2005, and Angela Lansbury, 1993.
