Woody Allen‘s latest effort, ‘Midnight in Paris,’ got domestic premieres this week after his stars Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson and Michael Sheen lit up the Cannes Film Festival last week in the south of France.

On Monday, McAdams wowed in a long white gown posing with her director, while beau Sheen stuck close by. Kathy Bates, who plays Gertrude Stein in the flick, came to support, as did Howard Stern‘s wife Beth Ostrosky Stern, director Sofia Coppola, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Gina Gershon.

A jaunt across the country saw an AFI screening of the flick Wednesday at Beverly Hills’ Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Sheen made the trek and Wilson showed, spending a few minutes on the red carpet before taking a seat inside. A dessert reception followed, where talk in the room was full of pleasant surprise over Carla Bruni-Sarkozy -- the French first lady who appeared in several scenes.
