So many weddings to keep track of, and it’s not even June yet: ‘Jumping the Broom,’ about a bride and groom and their very different families, threw itself quite the reception at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome on Wednesday for the movie’s Hollywood premiere.

‘Broom’ groom Laz Alonso walked down the aisle -- OK, more of a white carpet -- as did his movie bride, Paula Patton, who had real-life husband Robin Thicke in tow.

Angela Bassett and Loretta Devine, the movie’s mothers-in-law, joined cast members including Gary Dourdan, Romeo, Meagan Good, Tasha Smith, DeRay Davis, Julie Bowen, Valarie Pettiford, Pooch Hall and Bishop T.D. Jakes in launching the comedy set in Martha’s Vineyard. Mike Epps brought his wife, while fellow cast member Brian Stokes Mitchell showed up with his father.

‘We really wanted to do a smart, classy comedy that African Americans could feel real good about,’ producer Tracey Edmonds told The Times’ Greg Braxton this week. ‘We also wanted to show how much black men love their women.’

Edmonds was at the Cinerama Dome for the premiere, as was producer Glendon Palmer. The movie had a premiere over Easter weekend in Dallas, where Bassett was photographed on the red carpet daintily jumping an actual broom.

Also spotted in Hollywood: Maya Gilbert, Orlando Jones, Naturi Naughton, Christina Milian, Eva Marcille, Vanessa Williams, Teyana Taylor, Tamala Jones, Elise Neal and boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, with his wife.

Plus, what would a wedding be without some dancing? With ‘Dancing With the Stars’ competitors Romeo and Leonard on site, ‘DWTS’ pro Chelsie Hightower wasn’t far behind, getting a dip for the cameras from her TV partner Romeo. An after-party was held at Boulevard3.

‘Jumping the Broom’ opens Friday. Click the pics for lots more photos from the Hollywood and Dallas premieres.
