Royal wedding: Prince William to wear Irish Guards uniform

While details of Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress were still under wraps, it was announced Friday in London that Prince William will be married wearing the uniform of the Irish Guards regiment, of which he is an honorary colonel.

William will wear a gold and crimson sash, and his uniform will have gold ‘sword slings,’ but he won’t wear an actual sword.

William’s cap will bear the Irish Guards’ insignia, featuring the regiment’s motto, ‘Quis separabit?’

Fittingly on this royal wedding day, the translation is, ‘Who shall separate us?’
