Michaele Salahi off 'Celebrity Rehab' -- Sean Young coming to the party!
Michaele Salahi received overnight fame and a whole lot of promotion for "The Real Housewives of D.C." after she and hubby Tareq Salahi crashed a White House state dinner — an event they wound up leaving early. Echoing that experience, she will now be leaving the cast of "Celebrity Rehab" early as well.
What got the blond booted from the reality-TV adventure in which various semi-stars receive treatment for drug and alcohol issues under the eye of Dr. Drew Pinsky? Hmm. How about having no actual addiction to treat?
"Producers were advised that Michaele Salahi met the criteria to be treated in this setting," a show rep told Us Weekly. "However, professional assessments found that she did not meet such criteria."
It doesn't surprise the Ministry that Salahi would covet a slot on the show, but how she fudged an addiction believably enough to be cast is beyond us.
Tareq claims Michaele was fired because she has multiple sclerosis, "which is a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act," he and his lawyers said in a statement to TMZ. Which aspect of MS can be addressed through treatment for an addiction to nothing is unclear to the Ministry.
We do remember, however, that Michaele ultimately blamed their early departure from that infamous state dinner on -- you guessed it -- her previously secret MS. Some free drinks afterward at a hotel bar near the White House reportedly relieved the crushing fatigue she said she'd been experiencing.
The good (read: delicious) news is that actress Sean Young will replace her, EW says, in a cast that includes Bai Ling, Amy Fisher and "Baywatch's" Jeremy Jackson, plus Michael Lohan, at whose home Tareq Salahi reportedly has been staying.
Why is Young's addition amazing? She has a flair for the dramatic, especially when it comes to melting down.
Let us not forget her 2008 episode at the Directors Guild Awards, when she strutted around her table during the presentation and heckled Julian Schnabel for taking too long to get his speech out.
"Have another cocktail," Schnabel barked from the stage (see the video below) before Young was removed by event security.
Thank you, VH1, for ending Michaele's party so Sean's could start.
