The studio is also courting ‘band camp girl’ Alyson Hannigan, of ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ and brunet bombshell Shannon Elizabeth for the film.

Despite Scott’s recent admittance to rehab, the Stifler character’s rep confirms that his treatment will not affect filming, which is set to begin May 24.

The series of films include ‘American Pie,’ released in 1999; ‘American Pie 2,’ released in 2001; and ‘American Wedding,’ released in 2003. A fourth installment called ‘American Pie Presents Band Camp,’ starring Levy, went straight to DVD in 2005.

Writing and directing ‘American Reunion’ are ‘Harold & Kumar’s’ Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.
