Ever the chamelon, Meryl Streep goes across the pond and up the historical power ranks in her latest role, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

A first look at Streep playing the Lady hit Tuesday, and if you ask us, it’s mucho convincing.

‘The Iron Lady’ biopic covers Thatcher’s life and political reign, specifically the days leading to the Falklands War in 1982.

‘The prospect of exploring the swathe cut through history by this remarkable woman is a daunting and exciting challenge,’ Streep said of the part

‘I am trying to approach the role with as much zeal, fervor and attention to detail as the real Lady Thatcher possesses. I can only hope my stamina will begin to approach her own.’
