Sherri Shepherd of ‘The View’ got engaged to TV writer Lamar ‘Sal’ Sally on Dec. 26, the show said Tuesday on its website.

Sally first had to get approval from Shepherd’s 5-year-old son, Jeffrey, who according to ‘The View’ was ‘not above a bribe.’ Once a Wii game traded hands, Sally proposed.

‘Yup! It’s official. My girl @SherriEShepherd is engaged and I’m starting my new career as a match maker! Who’s next?,’ pal Niecy Nash said Tuesday on Twitter. Nash’s fiance Jay Tucker -- they’re getting married in May -- introduced the two about a year ago.

Shepherd was married previously to comic Jeff Tarpley, splitting with him after he had an affair. The ‘Sherri’ star based one of her sitcom’s characters on her ex, and riffs on him in her stand-up act, which he’s not thrilled about.

The Shepherd-Sally wedding is planned for August in Chicago -- but Sherri will dish about the engagement with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and the rest of the gang on Monday.
