Shania Twain engaged to businessman Frederic Thiebaud

Shania Twain is engaged to businessman Frederic Thiebaud, US Magazine reports.

‘I’ve never seen Shania so happy,’ a friend told the mag, which says the proposal came about two months ago in his native Switzerland. ‘She has ended up with the love of her life.’

The love of her life, and a three-carat solitaire diamond engagement ring, says People.

It’s a happy twist on what could have seemed like an episode of ‘Wife Swap’: Thiebaud was married to Twain’s best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, and Twain was married for 14 years to producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange, who left her in 2008 -- reportedly for Marie-Anne, though both denied an affair.

Twain and Lange’s divorce was finalized in June of this year; they have a 9-year-old son together, Eja. The five-time Grammy winner went public about her new relationship in August 2009.

Twain’s autobiography will be coming out next spring.

‘There have been moments in my life I was concerned by the reality that tomorrow would never come,’ she said on her official website in September. ‘Recently I experienced one of those moments to an intensity that brought on a sudden urgency to document my life before I ran out of time, before I had the opportunity to share an honest and complete account of my life, in my own words. There are times in your life that are meant for reflection, and this was one of them.’
