Lawyers for Ashton Kutcher on Thursday asked Vivid Video to cease and desist using the actor’s name to promote a sex video featuring Brittney Jones, the woman who in June told Star magazine she’d had sex with the actor on his couch.

Now, this isn’t being billed as a sex video with Kutcher in it. Rather, Vivid is promoting it as featuring Jones engaging in ‘explicit, uninhibited sex with a former boyfriend,’ according to a news release published by the Huffington Post. ‘Ashton’s fans will undoubtedly enjoy seeing what the star himself may have experienced, in this exclusive video,’ Vivid said.

The letter obtained by TMZ says that Kutcher is being advised to pursue Vivid for any damages resulting from the unauthorized use of his name to sell the video, which is due out Dec. 14.

Back in September, when Jones used Kutcher’s name to sell her own story, she said, ‘Ashton said he and Demi [Moore] have an open relationship and have threesomes often. I didn’t feel at all like he had just cheated on his wife. It felt normal and OK.’ Kutcher and Moore took to Twitter shortly afterward to promote their marriage as rock solid.

Vivid exec Steve Hirsch told TMZ that he’d received the letter late Thursday and had forwarded it to his attorney.

And the Kardashians think they had a brand problem?
