It was a fine night to be a girls’ girl, as famous femmes including Julia Roberts, Fergie, Oprah Winfrey, Chelsea Clinton and Janet Jackson gathered Monday for Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year event in New York.

Fergie, an honoree, attended with her mother Terry and sister Dana -- as well as one important man, husband Josh Duhamel. After ‘Nine’ costar Kate Hudson presented the honor, the Black-Eyed Peas member teared up during her acceptance speech, gave shout-outs to her therapist and cried, ‘We are women, hear us roar!’

And that’s just the French tip of the iceberg.

Presenters included Diane Sawyer, Hilary Swank and Jackson, getting the job done for a stable of honorees capped by Cher, who nabbed a lifetime achievement award.

‘I’ve had huge losses,’ the ‘Burlesque’ star said to the audience. ‘It just makes me keep going.’

Star athletes Mia Hamm, Lindsey Vonn and Lisa Leslie got accolades for achievements in their individual sports, while the very busy Queen Rania of Jordan got a nod for her advocacy of women’s education in the Middle East.

Presenting to designer Donatella Versace, Jackson spoke of her late brother Michael.

‘We both lost our brothers and our favorite collaborators much too soon,’ Jackson said of Versace, who survives her famous brother Gianni, adding that Donatella helped the Jackson clan cope with their loss by dressing them for Michael’s funeral.
