Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino rock the ‘Faster’ premiere

While lots of less-starry folks sat in line at the grocery store, hunting and gathering ahead of the Thanksgiving feast, Dwayne Johnson muscled his way down the red carpet Monday at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre to launch ‘Faster,’ his return to the action genre after a number of kids’ films.

‘Faster,’ costarring fellow red-carpet residents Billy Bob Thornton and Carla Gugino, is a tale of cops, guns, hit men and vengeance -- plus kickin’ cars, both muscle and exotic. Other cast members hitting Hollywood Boulevard on Monday night included Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Moon Bloodgood. Click the pic of Gugino at left to see more pictures from the premiere.

‘Dwayne has never looked better,’ producer Robert Teitel told The Times recently, ‘and if he is going to come back in the format, you had to bring him back bad -- he’s on a total revenge path, and nothing gets in the way to stop him,’ Teitel says. What’s not to love?

Also spotted: ‘Hellcats’ actor Matt Barr, ‘Brothers and Sisters’ alum Gilles Marini, Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe and other musical efforts, and Connie Anglund, Thornton’s girlfriend and the mother of his youngest child, Bella.

‘Faster’ opens Thanksgiving Day in U.S. theaters.
