The father of Rachel Dratch‘s son Eli has been unmasked -- and the back story is nothing weirder than he’s just a regular guy she met in a bar.

Oh yeah, he’s also not an entertainer, so maybe that’s a little weird. But he’s not a turkey baster either.

Dratch’s boyfriend is natural-foods business consultant John Wahl, the couple tells People, and the ‘Saturday Night Live’ veteran was surprised to find out six months after she met him that, at 43, she was pregnant. At the time, he was based out of California, but since the kid’s Aug. 24 birth he’s moved to New York City, and they’re raising the baby together.

Wahl says Eli is the focus now, but ‘you never know’ what the future might hold.

Seriously. Even if you’re 44 now.
