Lil Wayne is spending his 28th birthday in prison -- where behind bars he often appears to get more done than some people do out on the job.

The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., on Monday released the online version of his newest album, ‘I Am Not a Human Being,’ ticking off some retailers who won’t get a crack at selling a CD version until Oct. 12. That after thanking lots of fans for their support via his blog on Sept. 13, and releasing a music video of the album’s title track Sept. 15 (see the video here, but know in advance that the lyrics are extremely explicit).

MTV News points out that for Weezy birthdays are usually an even bigger deal. Seriously, while you and I might get a round of drinks from the folks at the office, Lil Wayne’s gifts have been known to run into seven-figure territory.

The rapper pleaded guilty to a weapons charge earlier this year and entered prison March 8 after several delays. He’s due to be released from prison Nov. 4.
