Billy Crudup let it slip Monday that he’s up to play Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner in HBO’s incarnation of the book ‘Too Big to Fail.’

‘Well, I hope it works now,’ the ‘Eat Pray Love’ star told Fox Business Network. ‘This isn’t going out on the air, is it? Great!’

Crudup and Emmy winner Edie Falco were among those acting as celebrity ‘brokers’ Monday, conducting trades for BGC Charity Day in New York. BGC Partners was created in the rebuilding of Cantor Fitzgerald, the firm hardest hit in the 2001 World Trade Center attacks. This is the sixth Sept. 11 anniversary that BGC has donated its day’s revenue to charity to commemorate the firm’s 658 lives lost.
