Who needs limos? Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Don Johnson, Cheech Marin and director Robert Rodriguez were among those arriving at the “Machete” premiere Wednesday in custom lowriders, trading Town Car black for shades of silver, orange and deep purple.

Star Danny Trejo took it a step further, rolling in solo on a custom chopper, flames included.

The “Machete” red carpet was rolled out in front of the Orpheum Theatre, the downtown L.A. venue where producer Quentin Tarantino‘s “Grindhouse,” also directed by Robert Rodriguez, premiered in 2007.

Lindsay Lohan, who has a small part in the film, didn’t make the premiere -- but did enjoy her own cool ride in the wee hours Thursday.

The film, which also features Robert De Niro and Steven Seagal, opens Sept. 3.
