The fifth alleged Mel Gibson tape: selling the Lakers box and feeding an army

The sun rose on Thursday, which means a fifth snippet allegedly of Mel Gibson‘s rage is making the rounds, courtesy of Radar Online, which bills this as the tape in which he ‘completely loses it.’

Here at the Ministry, however, we’re more intrigued by the admissions of financial trouble than by the repetition of bad words, screaming and panting. (Though if you’re a tough-minded adult who’s in the mood for profanity, you can listen here.)

What we gleaned from ol’ No. 5: Money’s apparently run short enough that the Lakers luxury box tickets have been sold, and paintings have been sold, and there’s no money for that dress, which was a dress apparently designed specifically to provoke rage. We knew already, separate from the tapes, that Gibson recently sold a Connecticut property for the bargain price of $24 million. That property went on the market in 2007, well before the actor’s wife filed for divorce in 2009. ‘I just thought I’d tell you that the [Lakers] box is gone because of you ... because I spent too much ... money on you -- and my wife knows it’s you.’ Spent money to the tune of more than $5 million, he says.

Keep in mind, around the time of Mel’s divorce he was reportedly worth $1 billion, give or take, and without a prenup his now ex-wife would’ve been entitled to half of what was amassed during their 28 years together.

Robyn Gibson has, according to TMZ, written in a sworn declaration filed Thursday that ‘Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage.’

But back to the other woman, where the mutual ruining of lives is at issue.

‘You used me,’ he says, ‘and you are telling me and proving to me what you were and what I suspected ... user, you ... used me. I will never forgive you ... I will never forgive you for what you’ve done to me.’

She says, in part: ‘You ruined my life, and you didn’t give me a penny.’

‘I ruined your life? How did I ruin your life? I gave you [things],’ he says. ‘You gave me nothing but .. grief, all right, and bad publicity ... how did I ruin your life?’

She calls him the meanest person she’s ever met, ‘very jealous’ and ‘very mean.’ His response is, well, very mean. (That’d be the ‘completely losing it’ part of the tape.)

What’s not surprising: He thinks she’s a lousy mother, and she thinks he’s the worst father she ever met.

Oksana’s son, Alexander, a.k.a. Sasha, is mentioned early on, also, with mom saying she asked for Lakers tickets because she was trying to smooth the relationship between boyfriend and son -- a relationship she says is messed up ‘because of your violence.’

Sheriff’s officials are reportedly talking to the boy, who according to TMZ witnessed parts of the Jan. 6 fight between Gibson and Grigorieva that resulted in a trip to the dentist for her. Detectives have also interviewed the dentist, who is said to have taken pictures of the singer’s mouth during her appointment and turned them over to her lawyers.

L.A. Now reports that sheriff’s detectives on Thursday obtained the audiotapes during a closed-door hearing in the couple’s child-custody case.
