Don’t call it a comeback -- Sandra Bullock showed up at Spike TV’s Guys Choice awards on Saturday night to show off a tight black dress and poke fun at her personal life.

The 45-year-old box-office darling hit the ceremony in Los Angeles to accept the Troops Choice award for entertainer of the year, voted on by members of the American military worldwide, and got an extended standing ovation as she appeared on stage with representatives of the Army, Marine Corps and the Coast Guard. ‘Let’s be honest here, just for a moment. We’re all going to be honest, right?’ Bullock asked the crowd. ‘Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. explosion that became my personal life?’

But only in Hollywood do improvised explosive devices come with tattoos and text messages -- the self-deprecating Bullock also made a seriously classy move in acknowledging ...

... the intense demands of being a member of the U.S. military. ‘I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops,’ Bullock said, ‘and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking about herself.’

Bullock’s left-hand ring finger was vacant, a nod to her looming divorce from Jesse James after the cheating scandal that exploded just days after her Oscar win for best actress in ‘The Blind Side’ -- though for what it’s worth, there was some brass spotted on her middle finger.

Bullock is also expected to appear at Sunday evening’s MTV Movie Awards.
