New ‘Sex and the City 2’ trailer: Abu Dhabi and the return of Aidan

A full trailer for ‘Sex and the City 2’ has finally been released, and it unveils all sorts of fantastic new things -- aside from being the best movie ever (in my humble opinion).

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia NIxon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis return in various states of fabulousness. The first film saw Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw endeavoring to marry Mr. Big (a.k.a. John James Preston, played by Chris Noth); this one takes things up two years in.

Cameos abound: Penelope Cruz, Liza Minnelli, Miley Cyrus. For ‘Sex’ die-hards, however, only one sighting really matters -- the jaw-dropping appearance of John Corbett, who played Carrie’s on-and-off boyfriend Aidan on seasons three and four of the television show.

Aidan materializes in a market place in Abu Dhabi, where the girls steal away to escape Manhattan and their obligations.

Other highlights include Cattrall’s Samantha stacking wonder pills to retain youth, Davis’ perfect Charlotte feeling the pressures of motherhood and Nixon’s Miranda on the verge of optimism (which, trust me, is a huge deal).

‘Sex and the City 2’ opens May 27.
