Perpetual ‘it’ boy Shia LaBeouf covers GQ magazine this month, suited and booted in spring’s best to promote the upcoming movie ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ -- even if it’s not coming out until fall.

As usual, LaBeouf gives good chat about his romance with Oscar-nominated actress Carey Mulligan, the unorthodox efforts of Oliver Stone and his new love of the stock market.

‘She’s an unbelievably thought-provoking actress ... ,’ LaBeouf lauds his lady, saying that neither of them is a crazy fame seeker. ‘It works out. It’s not like we’re the premiere couple; we’re not the red-carpet king and queen.’

He’s not just handing out compliments to Carey. LaBeouf relished working with famed director Stone and indulging in his unorthodox methods ... like getting drunk before work.

‘We’d be on the street, and Oliver would just say, ‘Go to that bar, get [drunk], and come back.’ I’d walk over, get smashed, and go back to work. He would really [mess] with me when I was smashed. I get aggressive when I’m smashed, and he’d film that,’ LaBeouf said.

Should he ever get an acting hangover, Shia’s got a fallback career: online trading.

‘I trade in my boxers now. I’m up early for the markets. I’m real-time all day long,’ he tells the mag. LaBeouf estimates his Schwab online account at around $450,000.
