While most of the world met Brent Bolthouse as Heidi Montag‘s boss in her pre-surgery and pre-Spencer days on ‘The Hills,’ the night-life denizen has been producing events and branded venues in Los Angeles since 1989.

Celeb pals and social types hit Hollywood on Thursday night to ring in his 40th birthday with cocktails and several impromptu musical performances.

The former Lingerie Club on Sunset Boulevard, with its stripped ceilings and warehouse chic, reopened for one night in honor of Brent -- also welcoming actor Dylan McDermott, ‘Family Guy’ creator Seth MacFarlane and producer Brett Ratner.

Musical guests included Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, who belted out the Guns N’ Roses hit ‘Paradise City’; super producer Linda Perry; and Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd, whoofficiated with ‘Happy Birthday’ while rocking a serious handlebar mustache.

The stunt vocalists were backed by Camp Freddy, the not-really-a-band that features rotating talent such as Dave Navarro and Travis Barker.
