Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin will co-host the Oscars
“We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars,” the producers said in a statement. “Steve will being the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”
With Ricky Gervais setting the comedic tone early in the awards season as emcee of the Golden Globes, we could be in for a few more laughs than usual this time around.
Ahem, um, not that we watch awards shows. Because nobody watches those things anymore! Duh! That's so uncool!
Folks don't follow celebrity gossip either, we're told.
Below, check out a completely unrelated (but amusing) video interview for the upcoming Nancy Meyers film "It's Complicated," showing how Martin and Baldwin interact.
And just ignore Meryl Streep if you would, please, because c'mon, what are the chances that she'd show up for the Oscars?
