Marc Evans named production president at Paramount

Marc Evans has been named president of production at Paramount Pictures, the Viacom Inc.-owned studio announced Friday morning.

Evans, who joined the studio in 2003 and most recently served as executive vice president of production, is currently overseeing such upcoming movies as next summer’s ‘Transformers 3,’ as well as ‘The Last Airbender,’ ‘Rango’ and ‘Morning Glory.’ He will also supervise the fourth ‘Mission: Impossible’ film, which is scheduled to start shooting in August.

Evans reports to Paramount Film Group President Adam Goodman.

Before joining Paramount, Evans worked for producer Laura Ziskin and Industry Entertainment. Earlier, he was program director of the Chicago International Film Festival.
