Billing his live shows as ‘a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence,’ displaced comedian Conan O’Brien on Thursday unveiled the dates of his 30-city springtime tour.

O’Brien’s first stop will be Eugene, Ore. And on April 24 he will appear at Universal Studios Hollywood, the home of his former home, NBC Universal, on the same lot as the $25-million studio that NBC built for him to host ‘The Tonight Show.’

Of course we all know how that ended.

Interestingly, American Express has signed up to be the corporate sponsor of the tour.

O’Brien tweeted about his extravaganza, saying: ‘Hey, Internet: I’m headed to your town....’

“It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house,” O’Brien said in an announcement.

TheWrap’s Joe Adalian broke the news this morning.
