Adam Kennedy will be back in Southern California.

The former Angels infielder has reached an agreement with the Dodgers on a one-year, guaranteed major-league contract worth $800,000. Kennedy can earn an additional $150,000 in incentives based on plate appearances.

Kennedy’s agent, Paul Cohen, said he expected the contract to be finalized Wednesday night.

The deal could be announced as early as Thursday.

Cohen said the Dodgers were one of four teams that bid for his client.

Kennedy, who turns 36 in January, will be a utility player.

Kennedy attended Riverside J.W. North High and Cal State Northridge. Cohen said Kennedy wanted to play for the team he grew up watching.
