It never rains in California, it just rains on Californians on the East Coast.

The Dodgers were fortunate to squeeze their game in Tuesday night with only a 31-minute rain delay, but they had no such luck Wednesday.

Wednesday’s game against the Nationals in Washington D.C. was called due to rain almost seven hours before its scheduled start. That is some serious rain coming down back East.

The game is now scheduled to be made up in a good-old-fashioned doubleheader on Thursday, starting at 10 a.m. PDT

And good luck with that, since there is currently a 70% chance of showers on Thursday.

If the Dodgers can’t squeeze them in on Thursday, there’s a good chance the games will never be played. Thursday is the Dodgers’ final scheduled game on the East Coast this season.

[Updated at 11:45 a.m., Sept. 7: The 10 a.m. game will be broadcast on Prime Ticket, with the pregame airing at 9:30 a.m. There will be no postgame. The second game will be on Channel 9 (KCAL).]
